Transfer of innovative methodologies in order to qualify smes in eco-efficiency and fight against the climate change

The project specifically aims to transfer an international methodology with three objectives:

  • a) To promote the application of eco-efficiency measures in SMEs to help in the fight against climate change through processes of joint qualification of workers, the unemployed and businesses.
  • b) To link, in turn, this methodology as a strategy for enhancement of occupational, continual professional training in order to encourage employment by means of finding evidence of cost savings and reduced CO2 emissions in the company.
  • c) To strengthen professional profiles suited to the new environmental requirements and work market developments simultaneously affecting workers, businesses and the unemployed.

Specific objectives:

  • 1. To modelize the methodology and results which are transferred through the specialized qualification of 20 unemployed workers (diploma or degree holders) in the method and content in order to train 20 workers through workshops in a pool of 20 SMEs in which the eco-efficiency measures will be implemented as joint learning practice.
  • 2. To demonstrate the possibilities of the unemployed to access specialized jobs based on the methodology and results which are transferred linked to potential new employment.
  • 3. To promote workersÔÇÖ career development in the field of eco-efficiency applied to businesses.
  • 4. To promote the use of ICT among businesses and workers, as tools for lifelong learning.
  • 5. To enhance the application of eco-efficiency measures in SMEs (ÔÇťOPTIMAÔÇŁ and ÔÇťPREPAREÔÇŁ measures) based on expert training and through the quantification of energy savings and air emissions reduction.
  • 6. To involve SMEs in the European strategy to combat climate change through training processes and methods that link emissions reduction with eco-efficiency and cost savings in businesses.
  • 7. To create an observatory open to the participation of companies, European Chambers of Commerce and institutions that are interested in the transfer, to encourage large-scale dissemination and effective exploitation of the results arising from the implementation of the model in European SMEs after completion.
